It’s Been A Year

Last weekend was our one year wedding anniversary.  We decided to have a celebratory dinner at the Woodberry Kitchen which was brilliant.  Anne had the Grouper and I had the ribeye.  We also polished off a dozen oysters to start with. That convinced us we need to be eating oysters a lot more frequently.  Cheers…

Cool Cats

Our cats are big fans of my guitar playing.  The picture proves it.

Better Marriage Blanket

I thought the best part of marriage was the Dutch Oven?

Boeuf Bourguignon

With the weather warming up, this past weekend was probably my last chance to attempt beef bourguignon after being inspired by last weeks episode of No Reservations on the Travel Channel.  I had over half a bottle of wine already opened so it made sense to give it a shot.   I used mashed potatoes as a base with which I ladled the stew over.  The photo shown doesn’t have much of the sauce in the bowl, but we added more of it as soon as we got started.  Of course, it wouldn’t be right without a baguette and a wine from Burgundy (Louis Chavy 09) which all together, turned out pretty good (pat on the back).

Riddle me this

I saw this headline on my iGoogle page:

“Signs point to Tiger Woods’ return at Masters, Arnold Palmer Invitational or Tavistock Cup”

In other words, the answer to your question is this, this, or this.

Bourdain sets it straight on Baltimore

I know a lot of fellow Baltimoreans took offense to a certain No Reservations episode. Watch this clip of Anthony Bourdain and Duff sit down to discuss Baltimore…

Dont’ forget to watch FoodWars on the Travel Channel tonight which pits The Anchor Bar vs. Duff’s for Buffalo’s best buffalo wings. Hands down, no contest, it’s Duff in my book.
