With the weather warming up, this past weekend was probably my last chance to attempt beef bourguignon after being inspired by last weeks episode of No Reservations on the Travel Channel. I had over half a bottle of wine already opened so it made sense to give it a shot. I used mashed potatoes as a base with which I ladled the stew over. The photo shown doesn’t have much of the sauce in the bowl, but we added more of it as soon as we got started. Of course, it wouldn’t be right without a baguette and a wine from Burgundy (Louis Chavy 09) which all together, turned out pretty good (pat on the back).
funny cause i’m watching julie and julia and boeuf bourguignon is julia child’s signature dish.
What did you think of that movie? We watched it a couple months ago. Well, we tried watching it.
And a pat on the back you deserve, it was scrumptious! In fact, we shall not be wasteful, leftovers for lunch.
did you not like it and never get through it? it wasn’t a movie i wanted to rush out to see, but it was on premium cable last night and it was just a perfect sunday movie while john was doing his photography work. i liked the movie. i also didn’t have any expectations for it. it has inspired me to learn more about julia child and master some french recipes.
Yeah, we enjoyed half of the movie – the half about Child.
